Kenyans will heave a sigh of relief at last if the Government walks the talk that was made by Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i.

Matiang'i said on Sunday at Isinya where he helped raise funds for the planned construction of a Seventh-Day Adventist Church headquarters, that Kenyans will start paying lesser for electricity after effecting drastic changes by State.

Matiang'I said the Government was planning to make a major overhaul at the Kenya Power Company that is mandated with distributing electricity to the entire country.

Tje overhaul is among the changes President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered to be done in the country's sole power provider.

"Life has to change from the worse it is now to the better that our beloved President wants for us," Matiangi told the congregation.

An average consumer spending around Sh100 to purchase electricity tokens gets only 5.6 Kwh(Kilowatt hours).

But after the review it is expected that such consumer may get up to 7kWh of power.

According to a taskforce report handed over to Uhuru recently and which will guide the price review, the cost of power is expected to come down by up to 25 per cent.
